Boron isotopes, lithium isotopes, and lithium products are extremely important for the development of new energy. However, currently, lithium extraction from salt lakes usually employs adsorption-coupled membrane separation process based on the aged brine (obtained after solar evaporation of salt and carnallite), which lead to a large amount of lithium loss as well as high investment costs and low separation efficiency. Moreover, both boron isotopes and lithium isotopes separation use the chemical exchange distillation method using highly toxic and environmentally harmful chemicals such as mercury and boron trifluoride. Here, We would like to share some novel research progress on the solvent extraction method for Boron Isotopes, Lithium Isotopes and Lithium from salt lake Brines. The novel extractants were designed and prepared, and the new solvent extraction processes were developed for the high efficient separation of lithium, boron isotopes, and the lithium Isotopes.
