Magali Rego
Magali Rego has experience with R&D projects within industrial and interdisciplinary partnerships, focusing on bottom-up design chemical approaches, materials characterisation and product performance assessment. Such R&D projects included executing from proof-of-concept to final product (including scale up) with commercial tire prepregs, wood coatings and thermoset epoxies. Her PhD thesis at The Open University (UK) was submitted this year for her work on chemical recycling of epoxy thermosets through the design of a reagent decuring trigger, funded by Lloyds Register Foundation and TWI Ltd.
Currently she works as a PDRA at The University of Manchester (UK) on the UKAEA’s Fusion Industry Programme project "Demonstration of a Viable Process for Li-6 Enrichment to Support Tritium Breeding" awarded to Dr Kathryn George.
Her main areas of interest are solvent extraction, lithium recovery, nanoparticle functionalisation and waste management.
